Durango Youth Activities
The City of Durango's Recreation Division offers a wide variety of recreational, athletic and leisure activities for all age groups. Some of the Recreation Division's facilities include a small in-town ski hill, a full-size ice and roller hockey rink, a community recreation center with numerous indoor amenities, a softball complex, and the Mason Center with classroom and gymnasium space.
Programs vary seasonally. Some of the 130+ programs offered each year include arts and crafts, baseball, basketball, biking, chess, cooking, dance, diving, gymnastics, horsemanship, kayaking, rafting, skiing, snowboarding, soccer, softball, summer daycare, swimming, tennis, trail trekking and volleyball.
The Dance Center offers youth programs designed to develop dance technique and the appreciation of the artistry of dance. Classes are focused on technique, choreography and performance skills in preparation for the Spring Recital.
